Best Foot Forward is a world leader in carbon and ecological footprinting, which has helped more than 300 organisations to measure and reduce their environmental impact. As well as providing footprinting services and tools, consultants offer advice on policy and strategy, supply chain sustainability, staff engagement and communications. Best Foot Forward helps businesses and government to cut costs and greenhouse gas emissions and to plan ahead for a green future.
The company has calculated thousands of footprints for everything from carrots to county councils, from wine bottles to Wimbledon. It has been developing footprint methodologies and tools since 1997 and the core textbook on ecological footprinting, ‘Sharing Nature’s Interest’, was co-written by its founders. The team advised on the development of PAS2050, as well as several protocols from the World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
Best Foot Forward’s multinational team of analysts and consultants are based in Oxford, England, and it draws on a network of global partners and associates when required. The company’s mission is to help organisations, regions and communities to reduce their footprint. In 2005, it was given the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development for its contribution to corporate sustainability.
