United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is the focus of the political process to address climate change. The Convention sets an overall framework for intergovernmental efforts to tackle the challenge posed by climate change.

The Convention secretariat is supporting the Convention and its Kyoto Protocol by a range of activities. Guided by the Parties to the Convention, we provide organizational support and technical expertise to their negotiations and institutions, and facilitate the flow of authoritative information on the implementation of the Convention.
